Flexible, Part-Time+ work with an Individual with a Disability
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are independent contractors who provide one-on-one or group services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
DDR, Inc. is seeking qualified people to train to work one-on-one as DSPs with the individuals we serve. The nature of the services we provide make it such that our DSPs have quite a bit of flexibility to determine their schedules and how frequently they wish to work. This is a great option for both full-time and part-time work.
Here's a quick idea of a couple of our most popular services:
Respite - provides periodic relief to family members and primary care givers. May include in and out of home services, activities in community locations such as trips to the mall, park, movies and caring for the individuals needs while the caregivers are away. May include overnight and weekend support.
Community Living and Support - supports an individual in acquiring and practicing life skills, maximizing self-sufficiency, increasing self determination and enhancing community participation and engagement. Activities for this service are widely varying and include any skills an individual is seeking to learn to be more independent such as how to choose clothing, dress appropriately for weather conditions, self-care activities such as hair brushing, laundry or home cleaning tasks. Other activities might include practicing appropriate interactions in the community such as making purchases, seeking information from service providers, learning to use transit & much more. This service is all about improving quality of life and working on increasing abilities.
