    Network System Engineers maintain the Network Infrastructure by installing and tracking network components, performing upgrades of software, maintaining Network hardware, addressing questions about technical problems, and improving efficiency by evaluating system network functions.  Skills will include the ability to be a recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories and techniques. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovative solutions.  Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to other employees. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives while collaborating with other entities. Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function. 

    Key Job Responsibilities 

    • Install, configure, test and maintain systems, application software and system management tools 

    • Conceive, write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks 

    • Monitor and test application performance for potential improvement opportunities 

    • Lead in the design of information and operational support systems with emphasis on network architecture 

    • Manage vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution 

    • Log calls with external providers where and when necessary and effectively escalate issues needing their support  

    • Identify and help lead deployment of improvement opportunities to the environment  

    • Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design. 

    • Occasionally be responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions across multiple platforms and technologies.   

    • Understands a broad spectrum of technology in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design which meets customer requirements. 

    • Ability to lead large technical projects. 

    • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work with both peers and clients.   

    • Liaises with Solutions Architect as appropriate. 

    • Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business segment. 

    • Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined segments. 

    • Reviews architectural solutions and provides recommendations and suggests changes if necessary.  

    • Provides technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of an engagement. 

    • Provides planning and design support for the development of solution architectures that will be implemented in a multiple system environment. 

    • Effectively communicates across client community and is viewed as adding value. 

    • Contributes to knowledge tools and communities and ensures project learnings are documented and shared. 

    • Role models Knowledge sharing and re-use within practice or profession. 

    • Proactively encourages membership and contributions of others to professional community. Uses professions to meet the relevant certification and professional standards. 

    • Produces internally published material such as knowledge briefs, service delivery kit components or modules, etc. 

    • Actively participates in the Dewpoint sales cycle and works with sales/principals on pre-sales activities.

     

    Required Skills  

    • 12+ years of Senior level experience  

    • Senior level experience with enterprise monitoring systems as well as designing infrastructure environments 

    • Senior level experience with network automation software  

    • Senior level network scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts) 

    • Senior level networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, routing protocols, advanced Data Center Design) 

    • Senior level understanding of network hardware components and troubleshooting procedures 

    • Enterprise level experience with Microsoft Active Directory including creating, deleting and modifying user accounts, setting up e-mail, home and directories 

    • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail, works independently  

    • Senior level skills in seeking solutions to network problems using one's own resources with proven track record in critical issue resolution 

    • Proven ability to effectively work with and direct other technical resources  

    • Certifications:  CCNP (i.e. Cloud, Data Center, Routing/Switching, Security, Service Provider, Wireless) VCP, MCSE and/or equivalent work experience.

     

    Preferred Skills and Experience 

    • Senior level knowledge with supporting environments that include infrastructure elements such as hosting, enterprise storage, BUR.   

    • Senior level understanding of ITIL concepts 

    • Senior level skills in monitoring and testing system performance; prepare analyze, deliver system performance statistics with recommendations. 

    • Experience with managing and monitoring enterprise infrastructure  

    • Senior level ability to oversee the design, development, and implementation of systems, software, applications, and related products 

    • Advanced degree or higher in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics or related degree / work experience.           A combination of education, experience and training may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. 

    • Demonstrated ability to lead team by setting example and creating organization objectives  

    • Elevated level knowledge/experience of Microsoft Server Systems.   

    • 12+ years of network administration in Cisco or equivalent platform; preferably in a remote management center/data center enterprise environment 

    • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions that can be used at multiple customer sites to enhance the availability, performance, maintainability and agility of their enterprise. 

    • Proven ability to develop reusable solutions and workarounds that are innovative and demonstrate a deep technical knowledge of the affected products, processes, and customer environment. 

    • Recognized as an advanced subject matter expert of IT products, applied technologies and processes, combining vendor interoperability knowledge pertaining to complex IT infrastructures. May define interoperability issues between vendors' products and is a recognized expert in one or more technologies.  Holds a vendor or industry certification in more than one discipline area. Regularly represents Dewpoint at industry recognized technical events. 

    • Proven ability to troubleshoot across several significant multi-vendor products. 

    • Has demonstrated innovation and ability to communicate new offerings across multiple business units.  Has led a cross functional team in the delivery of multiple solutions across multiple technologies. 

    • Ability to operate and present at all levels, and in public forums, to facilitate business discussions, and controls and leads those discussions. 

    • Demonstrates ability to represent the whole organization within a customer sales presentation, conveying the benefits of working with the business.   

    • Ability to lead production of proposals, working across departments, for complex customer solutions.  Able to lead, coach and mentor others in consulting skills. 

    • Demonstrated ability to develop and win new opportunities through application of consulting skills.   

    • Proven ability to relate risks and challenges with other client efforts. 

    • Proven ability to develop detailed project plans and work breakdown structures. 

    • Proven ability to develop Architecture Specification deliverables that map customer business requirements to technologies. 

    • Proven ability to lead technically significant work on enterprise scale projects. 

    • Is recognized by peers as an expert in an area of technology. 

    • Experience in large project/programs involving multiple disciplines, technologies, multi-geographies, and business units. 

    • Certifications: VCAP, VCDX, MCSE, CCIE or equivalent work experience.
