    Di Bruno Bros. is hiring an experienced Prep Cook to join our Commissary & Catering Kitchen team in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. This is a part time position, 20-30 hours per week, with the potential to become full time. Our Catering & Commissary Kitchen is open every day of the week, and your schedule will rotate weekly depending on business needs.

    The Catering Prep Cook will assist the Culinary Team with production of gourmet foods for our retail stores, catering events and catering drop-off service.

    What You'll Do:

    Ensure that each food item is prepared accurately using standardized prep lists and recipes to guarantee quality and consistency

    Assemble, organize, prepare, and fill food orders according to company specifications and recipes

    Prepare and fulfill orders of high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production kitchen departure times

    Follow proper handling, preparation, and holding guidelines

    Assist in maintaining foods in sufficient qualities while minimizing over-production and waste

    Maintain a clean and sanitized work station

    Follow health and safety guidelines

    Communicate effectively and work as a team with management & peers

    Utilize equipment, utensils and machinery according to health and safety guidelines

    Additional duties as assigned

    General Requirements:

    Experience in a high volume food prep position, preferably in a catering environment

    Culinary knife skills and experience

    Availability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business

    A willingness to learn about our brand and our menu

    Ability to multi-task and work well under the pressure of a busy catering kitchen

    Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation

    Understanding of catering operations and production & prepared retail foods

Floors may be slippery both in the kitchen and in the hallways.Due to the nature of our industry, the performance of this position will require the individual to spend time in a facility in which he/she will be exposed, either directly or indirectly, to potential food allergens including (but not limited to): peanuts, gluten, corn, egg, fish, milk, shellfish, soy, tree nut and wheat.
