    This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below:
    International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for Certified Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (General / X-Ray) to provide onsite diagnostic radiology services to Veterans under the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Integrated Critical Staffing Program (ICSP). The technologist performs general diagnostic radiographic examinations, including fluoroscopy, operating room imaging, and portable imaging, in accordance with VA policies, Joint Commission standards, and the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The position supports patient access, safety, diagnostic accuracy, and continuity of care within the VA health care system.

    • Perform general diagnostic radiographic (X-ray) procedures, including routine imaging, fluoroscopy, operating room (OR) imaging, and portable examinations.
    • Operate ionizing radiation equipment safely and effectively, selecting appropriate technical factors and examination protocols.
    • Verify patient identity using approved identifiers and explain imaging procedures to secure patient understanding, cooperation, and comfort.
    • Review imaging requisitions and relevant medical records for accuracy, completeness, and clinical appropriateness.
    • Position patients correctly and utilize immobilization devices as required to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
    • Annotate, label, evaluate, and archive images to ensure optimal image quality and exam completeness for timely radiologist interpretation.
    • Adhere to radiation safety standards and the principle of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
    • Maintain infection control standards and ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared at the end of each shift.
    • Monitor patients during imaging procedures and recognize the need for prompt medical attention; administer emergency care within the scope of Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
    • Accurately document procedures, findings, and workload in the VA Electronic Health Record (EHR) and associated radiology systems.
    • Inspect imaging equipment prior to use and promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisory personnel.
    • Comply with VA requirements related to privacy, confidentiality, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), patient safety reporting, and quality assurance activities.
    • Complete all VA-mandated training, credentialing, privileging, and continuing education requirements.
    • Submit required time, attendance, and workload notifications in accordance with contract and VA procedures.
    • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements/Certifications:

    • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography.
    • Active California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Radiologic Health Branch.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Education Required:
    • Completion of an accredited diagnostic radiologic technology program meeting the requirements of 42 CFR Part 7.

    Experience Required

    • Clinical experience performing general diagnostic radiologic (X-ray) procedures, including fluoroscopy, operating room imaging, and portable examinations.
    • Experience in a hospital or outpatient clinical environment.
    • Knowledge of radiographic anatomy, pathology, radiation physics, and image quality standards.
    • Proficiency in operating diagnostic radiology equipment and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
    • Ability to document care accurately within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary clinical staff.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
    • Ability to wear lead protective equipment for extended periods as required.

    Other Special Qualifications:

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
    • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
