    Position Overview

    We are seeking a full-time, on-site Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to support the Radiology service at the VA New Jersey Health Care System's Toms River CBOC under VA task order 36C24226Q0770. This role covers general radiography, fluoroscopy, and Bone Densitometry (DEXA) examinations for Veteran patients at a single, fixed clinic location.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform general radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, including IVP, GI series, modified barium swallow, and barium/air contrast enema exams.
    • Perform Bone Densitometry (DEXA) examinations of the lumbar spine, hips, and forearms.
    • Prepare sterile supplies, local anesthetics, contrast materials, catheters, and other equipment for the attending radiologist.
    • Support interoperative portable and portable C-arm cases, including pain-management C-arm procedures.
    • Position patients and adjust equipment to eliminate artifacts and minimize unnecessary radiation exposure.
    • Prepare and transmit digital images via PACS for radiologist interpretation.
    • Document care in the VA electronic health record (CPRS/VistA) and communicate delays or scheduling conflicts to the COR.

      Qualifications & Experience

    • Current, full, and unrestricted state license in Radiologic Technology.
    • ARRT certification in general radiologic technology (R).
    • Minimum 3 years of general radiography experience, including DEXA and fluoroscopy.
    • Experience with computerized/digital radiography (CR/DR) and PACS.
    • Current BLS certification.
    • Ability to pass VA credentialing/privileging review and a two-week on-site clinical assessment prior to independent duty.

    Compensation

    $45–$51/hour, depending on experience and certifications. Local, on-site position — no travel or per diem allowances apply.
