    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Quality Assurance Engineer will mentor and lead the QA testing team under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Manager. Work closely with internal/external testing groups and teams to support and maintain their knowledge, performance, deliverables, and consistency on projects. The Quality Assurance Engineer will oversee the identification of software problems and report product defects to various stakeholders. Duties include assigning tasks to QA Engineers, documenting bugs, developing test plans, running automated tests, aggregating results, and support development in providing high quality products in an environment with strict business constraints and requirements.

    The successful candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and have experience with systems/platforms support; 3 or more years of experience with IT Service Management System administration and management; 2 or more years of experience with Configuration Management, IT Asset Discovery, Disaster Recovery, languages and database management systems including JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), JavaScript, SQL and Oracle; experience in delivering excellent customer service to users and stakeholders; excellent written and verbal communication skills;

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist the QA Manager by relaying priorities to team members and be an integral contributor in setting deadlines and reporting project statuses.
    • Ensure consistent implementation and execution of QA Best Practices, tool usage, info tracking, and status reporting within internal and external QA support teams and partners
    • Define and maintain testing strategies to ensure compliance to company and industry standards
    • Identify primary system issues and develop test suites and plans to mitigate risk
    • Manage and Improve company test processes and procedures
    • Report results of test and project updates to management, engineers, and marketing departments
    • Performs other duties and tasks as requested and required by management

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree in computer or technology field preferred or equivalent work experience
    • 3 years of experience with systems/platforms support 3 or more years of experience with IT Service Management System administration and management
    • 2 or more years of experience with Configuration Management 5 or more years of experience with administration and management of an IT Service Management System
    • Minimum of 3-5 years working in software QA, preferably in a Windows environment
    • 3-5 years of experience with defect tracking and test suite management software (Azure DevOps a plus)
    • 3-5 years of experience in writing test suits, plans, test cases and defects
    • 2-3 years of experience using MS SQL or other DB Query language
    • 1-2 years of experience with software automation tools (Selenium, WinRunner, etc.)

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong understanding of software QA best practices
    • Understand networking concepts (client/server, routers, subnets, etc.)
    • Knowledge and experience with programming concepts
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Solid knowledge of the SQL Query Language and a solid foundation in RDB architecture.
    • Thrives in fast paced environments
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to take instructions and work independently to complete the task
    • Willing to travel up to 25% in the US and Canada
