JOB SUMMARY

Diamond Line Delivery Systems, an LTL freight carrier, is looking for an Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee the entire process of collecting payments from our company’s customers.

The main responsibilities for this role include managing invoices, handling missed payments and supervising Accounts Receivable Clerks. Our ideal candidate is familiar with all accounting procedures and can manage daily financial transactions end-to-end.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout our entire accounts receivable process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the supervision of the collections and cash applications, interline staff. (5-8 members).
• Oversee and participate in collection efforts of accounts receivable for customers and interline carriers. Receivables in the amount of $5M.
• Oversee and participate in accurate billing, charge requests including accessorial/additional charges required for delivery, data entry of freight charges, invoicing, and collections on shipments/freight bills of over 50 interline carriers, Payables in the amount of $700K.
• Oversee and assist cleanup of unapplied payments, short paid invoices, transfer of payment and charge backs on customers.
• Oversee and participate in corrections required on interline carrier shipments.
• Oversee, apply, and participate in accurate payables for interline carrier shipments.
• Conduct credit checks.
• Ensure timely collection of payments.
• Essential job functions include mailing of past due statements, placing direct phone calls and emails to customers regarding past due account.
• Ensure all team members follow the accounting principles.
• Set objectives for the accounts receivable team that align with the accounting department’s goals.
• Stay updated on industry and legislative changes
• Work with billing department to implement processes and policies that contribute to accurate invoicing.
• Work closely with the Controller/accounting staff concerning general ledger matters.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven work experience as an Accounts Receivable Manager or Supervisor.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software.
• Familiarity with Transportation and Logistics.
• Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports.
• Ability to accurately process numerical data.
• Team management and negotiation skills.
• Problem-solving attitude.
• Confidentiality.
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance or 3-5 years’ experience in a related field.
