As a family-first, regionally respected construction and paving company, is seeking a Truck and Equipment Mechanic to join their maintenance team based in Richmond, Maine. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and reliably, with variety in day-to-day tasks and opportunities to travel regionally with a close-knit crew.
What You'll Do as the Truck and Equipment Mechanic:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to keep job sites moving
- Perform MIG and stick welding, fabrication, and part replacements as needed
- Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or damage
- Operate equipment and tools in compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Travel occasionally for regional field work, including some overnight stays
- Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Handle physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in all weather
Must-Haves as the Truck and Equipment Mechanic:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant mechanical experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, diagnostics, and repair
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to supply your own tools
- Willingness to work in physically demanding conditions and pass drug/physical screening
Nice-to-Haves as the Truck and Equipment Mechanic:
- Maine State Inspection License
- CDL or ability to operate various heavy vehicles
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting MSDS sheets
