Diesel Fleet Mechanic – Join Pittsburgh Transportation Group!
Pittsburgh Transportation is looking for an experienced Diesel Fleet Mechanic to perform daily maintenance and repairs on our fleet of company vehicles. This position operates Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. A Pennsylvania CDL license, State Inspection License, and the ability to pass a DOT physical are required.
Position Overview: As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic , you will be responsible for performing interior and exterior repairs, services, and maintenance on our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal condition and ready for reliable operation.
Key Responsibilities as a Diesel Fleet Mechanic :
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication
- Inspect and adjust protective guards, belts, and safety devices on vehicles
- Examine brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components for proper functionality
- Conduct timely vehicle inspections and services to maintain fleet reliability
- Complete necessary repairs to keep vehicles operational and safe
- Oversee vehicle recovery procedures as needed
- Perform road tests to diagnose and resolve vehicle issues
- Ensure vehicle updates and repairs are made according to specifications
- Maintain tools and workspace in a neat, organized manner
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications in a Diesel Fleet Mechanic :
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a CDL mechanic role (preferred)
- Skills & Abilities: Basic computer proficiency
- Certifications & Licenses:
* CDL License (required)
* State Inspection License (required)
* ASE certifications (preferred)
