    About Advance Fleet Services Advance Fleet Services is a premier fleet service provider and truck center located in central Birmingham, Alabama. With decades of experience and a team of highly skilled technicians, we provide full in-house service for all makes and models of heavy-duty on-road and off-road equipment, including forklifts and trailers.

    We’re a rapidly growing company with increasing customer demand and we’re looking for a motivated Diesel Technician to grow with us.

    Position Overview As a Level B Diesel Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing Class 3–8 vehicles and equipment. This position is ideal for someone with solid foundational experience who’s ready to advance their skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    Pay & Schedule

    Starting at $25.00/hour

    Full-time position

    Minimum 40 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities

    Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Class 3–8 diesel vehicles

    Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software

    Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance

    Repair or replace defective parts and components

    Perform welding and soldering as needed

    Maintain accurate repair order documentation

    Provide professional customer service and communication

    Participate in occasional roadside service calls

    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

    What We’re Looking For

    1–2 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred

    Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

    Experience with PM services, air systems, electrical systems, wheel ends, coolant systems, and A/C repair

    Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment

    Strong communication skills

    Must have personal tools and toolbox

    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

    Preferred Certifications

    EPA 608/609 Certification
