About the Role:

Seven Lakes Contracting & Asphalt is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our hardworking team in West End, NC. This is a hands-on opportunity to keep our heavy equipment and fleet running at peak performance while playing a vital role in the success of our contracting operations. Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, heavy equipment, and construction machinery

Perform routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks

Inspect and troubleshoot engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical systems

Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems using hand tools and diagnostic equipment

Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure fleet safety and compliance

Maintain accurate service records and document all repairs and maintenance performed

Coordinate with operations team to minimize equipment downtime and keep projects on schedule

Requirements:

2+ years of hands-on diesel mechanic or heavy equipment repair experience

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and drivetrain components

Experience with construction or asphalt equipment (pavers, rollers, excavators, dump trucks) preferred

Ability to use diagnostic tools, scan tools, and standard mechanical hand tools

Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship
