    DIGIPEN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IS HIRING FOR A FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION (LECTURER, DIGITAL ART) IN VISUAL EFFECTS FOR REAL-TIME ENGINES

    The Department of Digital Arts at DigiPen Institute of Technology invites applicants for the position of Lecturer in Digital Art to help teach the next generation of artists. Join our faculty team and help students develop the necessary skills to succeed in the field of VFX.

    DigiPen Institute of Technology is a leader in game development education and interactive media. Undergraduate programs are offered in Digital Art and Animation, Computer Science, Game Design, Digital Audio and Music, and Computer Engineering as well as graduate programs in Digital Art and Computer Science.

    Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Teach introductory and upper division course in the following area of specialization:
      • Visual Effects for Unreal Engine
        • Focus on every aspect of the real-time VFX pipeline in Unreal; Niagara, Shader development, Unreal system as a whole.
    • Lecture and teach Online and possibly within a classroom setting, as per course schedule
    • Demonstrate Unreal systems and VFX pipeline.
    • Grade, critique, and input assignment data on a weekly basis.
    • Curriculum development.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Art, Interactive Media, Technical Art, Visual Effects, or related field plus 8+ years of professional VFX experience, 1+ shipped titles preferred, published works, published research projects, or other body of work OR
    • Master’s degree or equivalent in Art, Interactive Media, Technical Art, Visual Effects, or related field plus 4+ years of professional VFX experience, 1+ shipped titles preferred, published works, published research projects, or other body of work
    • Lecture experience, including professional talks or panels at conventions or events preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 8+ years of professional VFX experience including VFX lead positions with the ability to apply the skills of the area of specialization.
    • Terminal degree in Digital Arts, Visual Effects, or Game Production
    • Shipped titles in different platforms and media.
    • Instructor experience in a college setting, or other teaching experience.
    • Strong understanding of project management workflows.
