About the Role:

Heritage Reporting Corporation is seeking a skilled and certified Digital Court Reporter to join our team in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a vital role in the accurate capture and documentation of legal proceedings at the highest level.

Responsibilities:

Operate digital recording equipment to accurately capture court proceedings, depositions, and hearings

Monitor and manage multi-channel audio recording systems to ensure clear, uninterrupted sound quality

Maintain detailed logs and annotations of speakers, exhibits, and proceedings in real time

Produce and certify accurate transcripts from digital recordings in a timely manner

Manage and archive digital audio files in compliance with court and agency standards

Coordinate with attorneys, judges, and legal staff to ensure smooth proceedings

Troubleshoot and resolve technical recording issues as they arise

Requirements:

Active AAERT or NCRA certification required

Proven experience in digital court reporting or legal transcription

Proficiency with digital recording software and courtroom audio equipment

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and courtroom protocol

Exceptional listening skills and high attention to detail

Ability to maintain composure and accuracy in fast-paced legal environments

Strong organizational and time management skills for transcript delivery deadlines
