Job Description
Reporting to the Banking Operations Manager, the Banking & Risk Data Specialist is an integral part of the Data Science Team focusing on the Banking and Risk & Fraud Services departments.
This role is responsible for the creation, maintenance and interpretation or analysis of all reports in the Banking and Risk & Fraud Services environment. The Data Specialists will also acquire and import any required data from third-party providers for use by the Data Science, Banking, Finance and Risk & Fraud Services teams.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Acquire data from third-party providers where required.
Perform high level data integrity and data quality checks
Facilitate provision of this data to the required parties
Data analysis to identify anomalies or inconsistencies and escalate these for further escalation and resolution
Use descriptive, diagnostic and predicative analysis techniques on available data to identify existing and potential Fraud trends and risks to the business
Data monitoring and analysis to identify opportunities, patterns, trends or concerns
Communicate patterns, trends or concerns noted and, where applicable, provide recommendations or suggestions for improvement
Provide reports as requested by business stakeholders, management or team members
Identify required reports or potential gaps in the overall monitoring of the processing environment and engage with the relevant BI Team(s) to develop and deliver these reports to the relevant parties.
Extraction of raw data from various internal source bases to satisfy Banking, Finance or Risk & Fraud Services Team requirements
Working closely with the Data Science Team to create reports and monitoring tools for the following:
Chargeback and Return Ratio Management
Fraud Alert Transaction Monitoring
AML Alert Transaction Monitoring
Dashboard Monitoring Tools focused on:
Key indicators and benchmarks
Productivity Monitoring
Transaction Monitoring Efficiencies
Risk & Fraud Services Team
Work closely with the managers in the team to:
Create visibility on team performance (KPI’s and SLA’s)
Identify potential efficiencies and opportunities to reduce workload volume
Assistance with creating new data sources and integrations into the relevant channels
Maintenance and optimization of existing data source gathering processes
Ad hoc data related services

Essential Criteria:
University degree in Statistics, Data Science, Finance, or closely related field
2 + years’ experience working with data analysis
1 year experience using SQL/mySQL (alternatively studies aligned to this)
Experience using Excel including pivot tables, charts and formulas
Experience using BI tools (including SSRS) to develop recurring reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analysis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Previous experience in iGaming, Online Sports, Banking or e-commerce
A passion for producing high quality, accurate, and actionable analysis to drive business performance
Ability to work within a team
Self-starting methodical working style
Strong ability to drive initiative
