    Position Overview

    The VP of Marketing is a leader who is able to advise clients and execute marketing communications programs to support business and marketing objectives for the agency’s clients. This position serves as a counselor and consultant, providing high-level, strategic guidance and recommendations for clients while directing teams and clients toward well-conceptualized social media and marketing programs.

    This person will work closely with other social media agency personnel, designers, long-form copywriters, research analysts, and PR managers. The VP of Marketing will work directly with clients, taking the lead on all social, digital, and content related account activities—this includes supporting the execution and project management of team supported deliverables.

    Responsibilities

    Account Management and Execution

    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with client senior leadership

    • Deliver work that is strategically rooted and creatively driven to produce business results

    • Craft holistic social media strategy for B2B tech sector clients based on their business objectives and content needs

    • Development of content strategies, building and managing content plans

    • Managing paid partnerships with target media

    • Developing integrated campaigns that stand out and get clients noticed

    • Research clients’ business, competition and marketing objectives in order to clearly define business problems and apply insights

    Social Media

    • Recommend content strategies, build suggested editorial calendars to support client social channels and executive channels, including recommendations on topics, industry trends, promotional content, whitepapers, blogs, videos, etc.

    • Engage and grow audiences for Method clients, increase thought leadership, mitigate issues, support paid social campaigns, earned, and owned efforts and elevate a brand’s online profile

    • Manage paid social campaigns and schedule posts with minimal oversight

    • Stay current on social media trends, actively testing new tools and channels to ensure Method’s service offering is competitive in the market

    Business Development

    • Lead proposal efforts and manage new business pitches from development to signature on designated marketing accounts

    • Review SOWs with a critical eye and recommend changes that are good for the agency and the client

    • Promote continual professional skills development through new client experiences and on-the-job training

    • Act as a mentor for designated direct reports, identifying goals and providing guidance and feedback on performance during coaching sessions

    • Deliver constructive and clear feedback to ensure level requirements are met and correct action is taken when necessary

    • Advocate for continued learning and personal growth by understanding how to lead and manage multiple people from diverse backgrounds

    • Expands the marketing services offering at Method through internal training and external marketing

    Requirements

    • 7-10+ years of client-facing agency marketing experience – primarily managing B2B marketing strategies and full-funnel integrated programs

    • Experience managing a team, having been directly responsible for the performance of others

    • Ability to manage paid and organic social, multimedia content and programmatic digital display programs and understand when these channels should be utilized.

    • Proven ability to strategize, manage, optimize and report on multiple clients accounts from a variety of technology specialties

    • Advanced experience with client management, team management and project management

    • Management of active accounts (business/clients) across social media channels with B2B/tech experience

    • Advanced knowledge of all major social platforms and social listening tools including best practices, general platform policies and user behavior trends

    • Knowledge of specific rules of engagement for brands/advertisers

    • Is a self-starter with a proven track record to generate results for clients, looking for opportunities to upsell services while thinking strategically about the clients and industries the agency is supporting

    • Strong writing background and eye for detail and tone

    • Understand the PESO model
