    SEO & Paid Media Manager (Remote)

     

    We are an internet marketing company headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. With our long-term history of growth, the company is poised to expand even further. Since 1998, we have been serving mid-size businesses across the nation with effective internet marketing strategies and eCommerce website designs.

    We are seeking a digital marketing expert to manage both SEO and Paid Media (Google Ads and Social Ads) for our eCommerce clients. The successful candidate will be strong analytically and technically and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity in an ever-changing landscape. Experience with e-commerce sites, B2B, B2C, and content sites is strongly desirable since this role will be working with various types of businesses, ranging from jewelry companies to software companies, and everything in between.

    On the PPC side, you will manage all aspects, including keyword generation and management, product shopping, remarketing, and social media ads. You will be responsible for performing proper keyword research and suggestions, building new campaigns, creating ad copy, managing ongoing campaigns, and A/B testing ads.

    In addition to being a PPC guru, we are looking for you to be an SEO expert to handle on-site and off-site optimization activities such as keyword research, content optimization, identifying content needs (article writing, blogs, videos), and link building. You will work with our team of marketing strategists, PPC managers, and content creators to help eCommerce companies grow their organic traffic and conversion rates. As the SEO Specialist, you will engage in all tasks related to improving our clients’ visibility and ranking organically in search engines and improving the user experience on our clients’ sites. You will be responsible for improving organic visibility wherever search results are present (e.g. Google, Bing, YouTube, etc). You are not expected to create the content, but to direct our team what content to create to meet your objectives. We’re looking for a team player who thrives on all things organic—putting together effective link building strategies, analyzing keyword opportunities, and utilizing SEO tools to help improve rankings. This person will be responsible for driving and executing SEO strategies across our clients’ portfolio of brands.

     

    Skills Needed

    • Excellent, positive, upbeat communication skills – specifically with clients, prospects, partners, team members, and management. Strong presentation skills.

      • Host “discovery calls” with potential marketing accounts and lead discussions regarding your diagnosis of the prospect’s existing efforts and campaigns. Host calls with clients to discuss strategies, tactics, and results.

    • Web analytics experience (extensive Google Analytics experience is a must).

    • Ability to collect and analyze data and identify trends/insights to achieve maximum ROI.

    • Ability to tell a story through data.

    • Extensive experience with various software used for SEO and PPC search bid optimization tools.

    • Creative thinker and paid search problem solver with the ability to strategize for many accounts.

    • Must be able to work through strategies for a varied client base (company size, budget, client resources, varying objectives, timelines, and more).

    • Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, especially during key seasonal periods.

    • Track client budgets and ROI.

    • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, and Google Data Studio to build dashboards and presentation materials for executive-level audiences.

    • Must be able to define and analyze relevant case studies, channel suggestions, competitor insights, prior potential client efforts, and other value points.

    • Understanding of website development is a plus.

    • Ability to research new services as technology and request change.

    • Extensive experience with the Office and/or Google suite of products.

     

    PPC

    • Understand and implement ongoing keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization. Perform negative keyword research and continually optimize ads.

      • Shopping Campaign optimization including feed optimization, bidding, and structure. Must have working knowledge of data feeds.

      • Re-marketing and holiday campaign planning and optimization.

     

    SEO

    • Fully understands the major factors influencing organic search crawling, indexing, and keyword ranking to help increase relevance within the search engines. Understands and has personally implemented ongoing keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization. Ensures the on-page content reflects the client’s priority keywords, and that it’s written well to entice visitors to convert (strong call-to-actions) and is high-quality.

    • Can develop an effective link-building strategy focusing on authoritative backlinks.

    • Write compelling title tags and meta descriptions that convince searchers to click through to the sites. Manages and owns the critical technical SEO process.

    • Can identify site issues, root causes, and spec technical requirements to drive technical SEO projects. Perform detailed site audits, deliver deep-dive analysis, and propose new data-driven projects based on business feasibility and expected return.

    • Must be able to define/analyze relevant case studies, channel suggestions, competitor insights, prior potential client efforts, and other value points. Has proven ability to hypothesize and analyze root causes and can make data-driven recommendations regarding solutions and opportunities. Understands how/when to incorporate qualitative data into decision-making.

    • Has in-depth knowledge across all areas of SEO, including technical aspects of SEO (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, URL structures), content and keyword optimization, user experience as it pertains to SEO and information architecture. Has a strong understanding of all three pillars of SEO: content, technical, and linking.

    • Serve as the subject-matter-expert and own the SEO channel from strategy through implementation. This mandates superior knowledge in SEO, social media, and other digital marketing channels.

    • Has up-to-date knowledge of SEO trends, including Google’s algorithm updates and how to apply these to an organization. Has a proven record and is dedicated to learning and development of SEO expertise.

    • Experienced or familiar with the following tools/platforms: SEM Rush, Brightedge, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, Screaming Frog. Extensive experience with Office and/or Google suite of products

     

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

     

    For PPC

    • Create new campaigns and ad groups and keep them properly organized.

    • Ensure ad copy and landing page content are consistent with the client’s UX/UI.

    • Client communication through phone, email and in-person meetings.

    • Research of the competitive paid search landscape

    • Management of client expectations.

    • Management of the client's budget and scope of work.

    • Generation of keyword lists, including expansion of current paid search campaigns.

    • Creation and testing of paid search ad copy.

    • PPC account maintenance and reporting.

    • Analysis of paid search trends through Google Analytics and PPC search engine reports.

    • Identification of opportunities for constant improvement of PPC results. (Identification of new, creative paid search opportunities for client review.)

    • Creation, presentation, and implementation of new strategies through campaign analysis.

    • Adapting to frequent PPC landscape changes.

    • Management of day-to-day account activities.

     

    For SEO

    • Analyze website architecture, content, linking, competitors' landscape, and other factors against organic search performance to identify new opportunities.

    • Provide content recommendations for new product and campaign launches.

    • Audit new clients' websites and report on findings in a way that non-marketing executives can easily comprehend and value.

    • Create new campaigns and keep them properly organized.

    • Ensure SEO copy and landing page content is consistent with the client’s UX/UI.

    • Client communication through phone, email and in-person meetings.

    • Research of the competitive SEO search landscape.

    • Management of client expectations.

    • Management of the client's budget and scope of work.

    • Generation of keyword lists, including expansion of current paid search campaigns.

    • Review content created by other team members and provide recommendations for optimization. Mentor our copywriters and those of our clients. Creation and A/B testing of SEO copy.

    • Analysis of paid search trends through Google Analytics and PPC search engine reports.

    • Identification of opportunities for constant improvement of SEO results. (Identification of new, creative paid search opportunities for client review.

    • Creation, presentation, and implementation of new strategies through campaign analysis.

    • Management of day-to-day account activities.

     

    Ideal Candidate

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field (or equivalent experience).

    • Experience managing ad programs on various social platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)

    • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM.

    • Passion for data, testing, and continuous optimization of PPC performance. E-Commerce experience preferred.

    • Experience with Magento and BigCommerce is a plus!

    • Google certifications are a plus!

    • 5+ years of SEO and Paid Search experience on the Google and Bing platforms.
