AI Processing Technician - Data Entry
Our ALERTWest Team is dedicated to helping prevent wildfire disasters by bridging the latest AI technology with human detection to alert agencies of immediate threats. Our AI Processing Technicians are part of a 24/7 team, constantly monitoring and verifying possible fires and smoke detected on video cameras throughout the state.
We are looking for individuals who can multitask and remain focused during high-stress emergency scenarios during the fire season, and who can communicate clearly under pressure.
Successful people in this role have exceptional multitasking skills and come from a variety of backgrounds that include former dispatchers, educators, administration, IT technicians, and other like-minded individuals.
Hiring at $25-30/hr. depending on knowledge, skills, and abilities. Day, Swing, and Night shifts are available with a potential increase of up to $3.00 in shift differential. This department is 24/7 and will require you to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities of a Fire Detection Specialist (Operations Technician Specialist):
- Provides urgent, accurate, and professional logistical and technical support to users across the ALERTCalifornia / ALERTWest platform during periods of heightened fire activity.
- Delivers around the clock emergency support on a rotational day-night shift basis.
- Processing fast-paced incoming online data while staying alert to your surroundings, including alerts, emails, and conversation.
- Confirm fire detections and make notification for rapid proper scaling of information and resources to various fire agencies and public/private entities across California and the western United States.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and aid in the growth of the ALERTCalifornia / ALERTWest multi-hazard fire camera system.
- Work in a collaborative, multi-faceted team environment dedicated to public safety and technological innovation.
Role requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. College or vocational education preferred.
- One (1) year of related experience in a fast-paced customer service-related position.
- Strong computer skills with Office 365 /Microsoft Office Suite and stand-alone applications such as, ticketing systems such as Asana, Jira, or Zendesk.
- Efficient in Excel and graphing.
- Highly Organized and detail oriented with the ability to perform at peak levels in high pressure situations.
- Ability to use good judgement in solving problems and make sound decisions.
- Able to represent the Company on a professional level and provide premium/VIP customer experience.
- Capability of communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Former experience in IT or a Critical Emergency Response setting preferred.
- May have to work any time during a 24-hour day. Must be flexible and able to work assigned and adjusted schedule. The schedule may include weekends and holidays.
- Specific vision requirements for this job include close, distant, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
