    Job description:

    This is a fast paced production environment where productivity and efficiency matters.

    The Digital Print Production Operator is a critical part of our team and our success. On a daily basis the operator will produce and finish printed projects on high volume digital printers and a variety of binding and finishing machines and tools. The operator needs to be able to understand projects from start to finish and recognize how performing various production steps will ultimately determine the outcome of a project. At the same time the operator needs to recognize the need to stay on schedule with projects and complete tasks on time while providing feedback and challenges to the rest of the team as they arise. Additionally the operator is critical to quality control and must be able to follow procedures. The operator must be patient and have a mechanical aptitude to deal with equipment and material challenges.

    This is an hourly position with an occasional over-time requirement.

    This position reports to the owner.

    Normal job hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    Follow operating polices and procedures

    Review production schedule and individual project specifications

    Setup equipment for production including loading the correct media or substrate for the project

    Print projects on paper and other substrates

    Cut, score, fold, punch paper and other substrates using a variety of machines including hand tools

    Maintain media, substrate and parts inventories

    Meet with internal team and customers to review and provide input on new projects

    Put up tools and keep a neat work environment

    Color calibrate equipment periodically

    Make recommendations to improve the company

    Try to figure out problems but ask questions when you are unsure - don’t experiment

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    High School Diploma required, prefer an Associates Degree or higher in Printing Sciences or other relatable degree

    Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English

    Must be able to perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication and division

    Must be able to read a ruler and or tape measure in both SAE and metric scales

    MUST have at least 2 years experience performing print production operations in a commerical print or sign printing operation

    MUST have used Fiery Command Workstation

    MUST be familiar with paper and other materials commonly found in printing and sign manufacturing shops such as coated paper, uncoated paper, polyester, PVC, acrylic, vinyl, foam board and others

    MUST be able to operate both a PC and Macintosh computer using common software such as MS Office and GMAIL

    MUST be able to pay close attention to details and can effectively handle frequent project requirement changes

    Must possess and maintain a professional working demeanor and have a sense of humor

    This job is somewhat physically challenging. It requires the ability to perform production operations that require standing for the majority of the day. This job requires the ability to safely lift paper boxes, rolls of substrates and sheets of material that can weigh up to 60 lbs. This job requires the ability to squat, twist and bend your neck and torso at times to perform maintenance on equipment. This job requires the ability to see color accurately.

    Compensation rate will be directly relational to qualifications, experience level and competence
