WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Hi-tech Business Unit at Mphasis is currently seeking for Trainee Software Engineer to work in validation, development, and automation for one of our largest client accounts in Product Engineering Services. This position is based out of Houston.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

TESTING:

· Knowledge in writing and execution of test plans

· Proficient in testing analysis and design, functional and test specifications to: develop functional models for testing, evaluate and validate test cases, develop test specifications, validate test specifications, validate testing coverage, escalate quality issues for resolution, evaluate test automation tools and validate testing environment in order to develop test specifications.

· Executing test cases as per test plans

· Executing test scripts and reviewing results

· Reporting and documenting technical issues

· Report bugs and errors to development teams

· Issue troubleshooting knowledge and skills

· Debugging knowledge with testing scripts and tools

· Well versed in QA processes, requirement traceability, reporting, etc.

HI-TECH SKILLS:

· OS System Concepts and Knowledge (Linux, Windows, VMware)

· Knowledge in testing Windows, Android & iOS applications (Windows is primary, mobile testing is a plus)

· Familiarity and Usage of Enterprise servers

· Familiarity and Usage of Networking Options (Network Interface Cards) and Switches

· Familiarity and Usage of Enterprise Storage

· Storage Concepts knowledge

· Networking Concepts knowledge

· Various memory types – Concept and knowledge

· Knowledge with white-box and black-box testing

· Understanding with FW/HW/software testing

· Knowledge of Concepts of Industry standard Server Health, Agents, Providers, Agentless Monitoring

· Knowledge of DHCP, PXE, DNS

· Knowledge of conferencing applications like Zoom/Skype/Microsoft Teams is an added advantage

· Knowledge of commercial notebooks and Desktops is an added advantage

· Knowledge of security applications is an added advantage

AUTOMATION:

· Python and JavaScript

· Knowledge of UI automation frameworks

· Experience Shell/Bash Script

· Experience with Subversion or some other source revision tool (GIT, CVS…)

· Familiarity with PowerShell

· Good understanding of Unix and Windows fundamentals and internals

· Desktop application (UWP/Win32) automation using PowerShell/Python or any other languages

· API testing

· Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

· Well versed in Agile methodology

· Ability to debug and fix code and debug the issues

· Understands and uses appropriate automated testing processes and tool

· Knowledge on automation scripting using tools like Ruby-on-Rails, Selenium, Cucumber is an added advantage

DEVELOPMENT:

· Knowledge on Jenkins, Maven, GIT

· Experience working in Linux environment (good with Linux commands and troubleshooting)

· Embedded C & C++ development familiarity

· Firmware and driver development familiarity

· Design for software and firmware running on multiple platform types

· Design new or modify current computer software/firmware

· Knowledge on ADO (Azure DevOps) is an added advantage

· Experience in Ruby-on-Rails, Selenium, Cucumber is an added advantage

· C# programming is an added advantage

PROCESS SKILLS:

· Excellent analytical and debugging/troubleshooting skills

· Various stages of Product Lifecycle and Value chain Management

· Various test Methods and Management

· Capable of analyzing system specifications/requirements and provide required details to development team

· Contribute to appropriate software (including programming languages) development life cycle (Agile-Scrum/Test Driven Development) methodology and application of specialized business and technical knowledge.

· Using software quality assurance tools and processes

· Collaborate with Developers and Management to understand the technical specifications of the product

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:

· Participates as a team member and fosters teamwork by inter-group coordination within the modules of the project.

· Effectively collaborates and communicates with the stakeholders and ensures client satisfaction

· Train and coach members of project groups to ensure effective knowledge management activity.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION:

· College Degree – Computer science/IT

· Technical development and programming skills including Object Oriented Designing, Programming

· Understanding of computing, storage, network engineering and technology
