DigitalFish has a quickly upcoming need for a broad range of roles in support of our work developing and advancing a large-scale, cloud-hosted, next-generation animation and VFX pipeline in partnership with a renowned global studio.

As Cloud Architect you'll lead a team of engineers and designers, and you'll collaborate with other project teams at our client to define the architecture and APIs for a set of content management services deployed to Media & Entertainment companies performing distributed production in the cloud. 

REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or another related field, plus 8-10+ years of related technical experience
• 5+ years as a software developer in one or two modern coding languages/frameworks (.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Ruby, Clojure, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect or Systems Engineer
• Proficiencies in RESTful API design, implementation, hosting and consumption
• Experience documenting system architectures for consumption by business, technical, and functional stakeholders
• Self-starter with with proven ability to learn quickly and "become an expert" on something that you don't have previous knowledge/experience in
• Understanding of core principles of cloud architectures and cloud-native applications
• Experience with Cloud Native Platforms including Kubernetes, Open Shift, Docker Enterprise, or Cloud Foundry in the public cloud
• Experience with Microservices, Serverless, Event-driven/reactive programming or other Cloud Native architectures
• Experience with DevOps and Agile engineering practices
• Broad understanding and experience with application frameworks, tools, and technologies (including challenges exposing/consuming data through APIs)
• Ability to identify performance issues at the app, API, and data tiers, as well as offer solutions for improvement
• Experience with API Gateways and API Management Platforms
• Understanding of various methods of authentication via APIs (PKI, OAuth, JWT, etc) and authorization (LDAP, SAML, etc)
• Experience with at least 3 of the following domains: Security Architecture, Product Development, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Network Security, Incident Handling, Vulnerability Management, Encryption, DevOps, CI/CD
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced interpersonal skills to effectively promote ideas and collaboration at the various levels of the client's organization
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience architecting cloud-hosted services for enterprises that operate film & video production, animation, visual effects, or post-production services. 
• Knowledge of non-RESTful data interfaces (SOAP, Web Sockets, GraphQL, etc.)
• Experience with IT compliance requirements (eg. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
• Understanding of high availability and scalability techniques at the app, API, and data tiers

LOCATION

Your primary work will be virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions and will stay remote once COVID-19 restrictions lift.  As conditions improve, some travel to actual studios may be required.
