    ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT $18-20/HR. DOE. Part time or full time. COVID flexible on-site position at our Chico, CA office.

    DigitalPath is looking for a skilled ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT to help fill a short-term need on our accounting team. We estimate the end date for this temporary assignment to be 01/31/2022. At that time, if the need remains (we are growing!), we will assess the possibility of extending the assignment or converting this role to a permanent position.

    • Flexible weekly hours (minimum 20-25 weekly)
    • Flexible start/end times within our regular accounting office hours (8:30am-5pm)
    • Work/life scheduling balance
    • Possible work-from-home options available during times of COVID-19 isolation (depending on experience)
    • Medical coverage effective 1st of month after hire (If working 30+ hours weekly)

    THE WORK YOU WILL BE PERFORMING (OR TRAINING TO PERFORM):

    • Assist in processing and reconciling A/P and A/R
    • Month-end duties including assisting in processing and reconciliation of credit cards
    • Provide support for payroll
    • Submit 1099 forms annually
    • Data entry
    • Facilitate various accounting projects
    • Update assorted ledgers and financial reporting
    • Periodically audit financial records & statements
    • Audit and create accounting spreadsheets as needed
    • Maintain vendor relationships
    • Review contracts and legal documents
    • Take notes and track action points for meetings
    • Organize and maintain files
    • Prepare documents, presentations, and periodic reports
    • Plan and facilitate in-person and virtual meetings
    • Detailed communication between individuals and organizations
    • Maintain and coordinate across multiple calendars
    • Order and dispense office supplies
    • Run errands
    • Create, maintain, and enter information into databases
    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong computer skills
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, systems, and office equipment
    • High level of accuracy and consistency
    • Must be able to manage and direct your own work at a fast pace independent of supervision
    • Maintain confidential information
    • Able to thrive under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to think critically and independently, and to utilize problem-solving skills

    PREFERRED:

    • Proficiency in accounting software, Sage 50 is desired
    • An understanding of accounting practices and financial reports
    • Able to articulate answers to complex accounting/financial questions by researching and interpreting data

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Prior training or experience in an accounting environment desired but not required
    • Reliable transportation to/from work
    • Valid California Driver's License with no more than 1 point and no DUI's
    • A strong credit score is not required but may lead to other career options in the department

    This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will work with the accounting team, executive team, and other team members. This is a temporary full-time, non-exempt position. Compensation starts at $18-20/hr. depending on experience – and we mean it! You could start at $20/hr. with the right experience and qualifications in accounting.
