    Job Description

    The Finance Analyst identifies trends and opportunities within the company to provide data-driven insights and solutions.  This role is part of the team that is responsible for all aspects of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) including: budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing all areas of the business. On this team part of your job will be to ski/snowboard around the four mountains to understand the operations, and evaluate operational and capital needs.  

    This role typically pays around $77,876, actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS •    Partner with operating groups across the Company to prepare, consolidate, and track annual budgets •    Develop, maintain, and analyze financial models that support business operations and strategic initiatives •    Present and effectively communicate data-driven insights to influence and inform strategic decisions  •    Analyze capital requests, track spending and progress to various budgets •    Produce, review and distribute daily and monthly performance reports •    Perform monthly and annual variance analysis to assess performance and develop forecasts •    Build presentations for Senior Leadership that summarize business results •    Work with large sets of data to understand and communicate business trends •    Experience on-mountain job functions first hand •    Perform ad hoc analyses and reports including, but not limited to: o    Statistical analysis o    Economic reports o    Industry benchmarking & competitive analyses o    Pricing scenarios

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    •    BA/BS degrees in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting required •    MBA, MS Finance, or MS Business Analytics preferred •    Minimum of two years’ experience in business or financial analysis •    Strong understanding of accounting principles, procedures and concepts •    Ability to work with and build relationships with employees at all levels throughout the Company •    Relevant experience in ski or resort operations including retail, rental, food & beverage, and hospitality operations is desired •    Proven advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience in financial modeling, including DCFs, sensitivity analyses, and budgets •    Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and PowerPivot •    Understanding of relational databases •    SQL, VBA, Python or similar programming languages a plus •    Experience with Financial and Point of Sale systems (i.e. RTP, JD Edwards, Hubble, Spreadsheet Server, Avero, Infogenesis)

    SUPERVISION GIVEN AND RECEIVED  SUPERVISION GIVEN:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.   SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under general supervision of the Director of Finance. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins. 

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements No adverse or hazardous conditions  Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
