    Position Overview: Dimensional Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Ithaca, NY. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in building the company's people needs, fostering a positive work culture, and ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations. While traditional HR responsibilities such as recruitment, employee relations, and performance management will be central to this role, you will work closely with our PEO partners to oversee payroll, benefits administration, and other HR functions.

    This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about building the HR function from the ground up. This is our first HR hire and we are looking for someone eager to contribute to the success of a rapidly growing company.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Recruitment and Onboarding:

    • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
    • Develop and implement standard hiring processes company wide, including the development of resources and guidance.
    • Collaborate with managers to guide the sourcing and screening of candidates using effective recruitment strategies.
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation sessions and paperwork completion. Develop onboarding checklists for employees and managers.

    Employee Relations:

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
    • Address employee concerns and complaints in a timely and empathetic manner.
    • Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs. Play a central role in developing a healthy and thriving culture across the organization.
    • Conduct periodic employee engagement and satisfaction surveys.

    Performance Management:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes.
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance evaluations, goal setting, and feedback.
    • Identify training and development needs and coordinate relevant initiatives.

    Compliance and Policy Implementation:

    • Working with our PEO, ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and industry trends.
    • Develop and communicate HR policies and procedures to employees.

    HR Administration:

    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
    • Process payroll and ensure accuracy in timekeeping systems and in tracking time off accruals.
    • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in human resources roles, with a focus on HR generalist functions.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software.
    • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge of Canadian employment laws extremely helpful.
