We are searching for an analytically minded auto mechanic to help our repair shop’s customers resolve issues with their vehicles’ performance, structure, appearance, and functionality. Our ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with customers about their vehicles’ performance and maintenance history. You’ll be tasked with inspecting automobiles’ mechanical components, systems, and parts to determine their necessary fixes. You’ll also maintain repair shop equipment and prepare cost estimates. Responsibilities: • Encourage and facilitate preventive maintenance work such as oil changes, air conditioning service, flushing, brake replacement, tire rotation, and more • Identify and address mechanical problems and malfunction codes found in the vehicle's electrical system, mechanical systems, and electronic systems • Continue learning and growing technical skills and opportunities • Conduct test drives, inspections, and diagnostic tests to determine automotive malfunctions • Creating estimates for auto repair work and their respective timelines for sharing with customers • Have the capacity and "Get it Factor" to think through logistics, timing, prioritizing reconditioning workflow • Inspect incoming inventory • Manage inventory on the lot and in Carketa • Schedule the service department employees • Manage technicians and write internal repair orders • Manage parts acquisition for recon Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED equivalent necessary • Excellent work ethic, listening, problem-solving, and communication skills are desired • Good manual dexterity and effective use of hand tools and other equipment needed for vehicle repairs • Valid driver’s license needed • An associate's degree from a vocational or technical school and/or ASE certification are a plus • Minimum 5 years relevant experience Compensation: $55,500 - $96,000 yearly
