Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Adult Day Training (ADT) program. This role supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a structured, engaging daytime setting focused on life skills, socialization, and personal growth. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment with individuals who may have behavioral challenges.
Duties:
Provide supervision, support, and assistance to adult participants throughout the day
Assist with daily activities, life skills, recreational activities, and group programming
Support participants with communication, social interaction, and positive behavior
Ensure participant safety and follow all program rules and procedures
Document daily notes, incident reports, and activity participation as required
Assist with meals, hygiene reminders, and mobility as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and respectful environment
Work collaboratively with other staff and follow direction from supervisors
Document all care activities thoroughly and accurately while respecting confidentiality and privacy standards.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
Must be 18 years+ required
High School diploma or GED required
CPR/First aid certification
Must be able to work daytime hours Monday–Friday from 8am-2pm
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges preferred
Must be patient, dependable, and able to work as part of a team
Comfortable managing behaviors in a calm and professional manner
Ability to stand, walk, and assist participants throughout the day
Strong communication and documentation skills
Reliable and Punctual
