About the Role:
As a Direct Care Staff – Preferably A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Enhance Health Care Services Behavioral Health you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with psychiatric, developmental, and behavioral health needs. This position is ideal for compassionate, dependable professionals who are committed to promoting dignity, independence, and safety for the clients we serve.
You will work closely with licensed professionals—including Registered Nurses, Counselors, and Psychiatrists—to ensure each client receives high‑quality, person‑centered care in both residential and community settings.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including hygiene, grooming, mobility, nutrition, and personal care while encouraging independence whenever possible.
Provide direct rehabilitative support to individuals with behavioral health or developmental disabilities in the home, community, and facility-based environments.
Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and needs. Observe and document clients’ physical condition, behavior, mood, and response to treatment or interventions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Implement behavioral and safety interventions to maintain a therapeutic, structured, and safe environment for all clients. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
Support Independent living skills, such as meal preparation, household tasks, social skills, and community integration.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency policy and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality care.
Engage patients in therapeutic activities to enhance their well-being.
Respond to patient emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
Observe and document clients’ physical condition, behavior, mood, and response to treatment or interventions.
Report significant changes promptly to the supervising RN, Counselor, or other designated professional staff.
Promote client dignity, respect, and empowerment in all interactions.
Requirements:
CNA Certified But Not Required (Preferably)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient care.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
Basic CPR and first aid certification required.
Background check and drug screening will be conducted.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required.
Applicants without a CNA may qualify if they meet one of the following:
At least 2 years of experience working in a private or governmental agency providing mental health care, rehabilitative services, or direct support to individuals with psychiatric or developmental disabilities.
Completion of major coursework from an accredited college or university toward an associate degree or higher in a related field such as Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Physical Therapy.
Must be in good physical health and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must have a current, negative TB screening.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis‑response skills.
Ability to follow treatment plans, maintain documentation, and work collaboratively with clinical staff.
