Job Summary
The Direct Care Staff (Support Staff) serve as Providence Corporation’s arm in its mission to promote the principles of Everyday lives in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Care Staff are responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our individuals, and ensure that services provided are in compliance with the applicable Individual Services Plan, Behavioral Plan, and any other pertinent care information.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance to individuals, as needed, with preparation of everyday activities.
Assist with personal hygiene needs and dressing
Assist with mobility, walking, and physical therapy exercises
Prepare meals and snacks
Light housekeeping activities
Dispense medication
Provide companionship
Assist with errands and shopping
Assisting with outings and medical appointments
Other duties as assigned (see HR for full job description)
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred
Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal spills
Ability to lift heaving objects
Compassionate, respectful, ethical
Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience, starting at $15 per hour.
Misc.: The incumbent is subject to a criminal background check. The incumbent is also subject to a post offer physical, TB screening, and drug testing.
