Position Overview

Golden Heart Advocacy is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a 23-year-old male in the Monmouth County area. The ideal candidate will provide one-on-one support while encouraging independence, community involvement, and participation in meaningful recreational and social activities.

The individual enjoys being active in the community and participating in interactive experiences. He enjoys dining out at local pubs and restaurants, walking, visiting the boardwalk, and going on rides. The family is also interested in potential job opportunities that promote engagement and social interaction.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support during community outings and recreational activities

Offer verbal reminders, encouragement, and guidance throughout daily routines

Promote independence, engagement, and positive social experiences

Support participation in weekend activities and community involvement

Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment

Qualifications

Required:

Valid driver’s license and willingness to transport individuals in the community

High school diploma or equivalent

Availability for day shifts

Reliable transportation and ability to commute

Preferred:

1+ years of direct support or caregiving experience
