Walk of Life Residential Care is looking for compassionate, highly reliable, caring, self -starter, punctual, and hard - working Caregivers to join our team of Direct Support Professional (DSP).

    Walk of Life Residential Care is an Adult Residential Facility that provides care and supervision for adults with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. Our team provide support to residential clients in activities of daily living, encourages individual choices, self-advocacy, interpersonal communication skills, problem solving abilities, money management skills, and community integration. The goal of the DSP is to focus on enriching the life of everyone they support.

    Primary Duties:

    Function as a role model and encourage positive interactions with others.

    Become familiar with the program plan for everyone in the facility.

    Understand behavior modification techniques and how to correctly implement them.

    Understand and assist individuals in exercises designed to improve or maintain, mobility range of motion and self-help skills.

    Document incidents that occur and maintain current progress notes and data frequency counts on each client assigned to them.

    Work with individuals to encourage positive choices.

    Assist individuals in all areas of grooming and personal hygiene skills.

    Assist in medication administration and monitoring and ensure proper documentation of such.

    Assist in supervision of meal preparation and housekeeping as assigned.

    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

    At least 18 years of age and holds a valid California Driver’s License or California ID; capable of driving a mobility van

    Complete pre-employment background checks, including fingerprinting, physical, TB screening, in-house training, and orientation,

    1-year caregiving experience preferred

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    CPR/First Aid Certification (or within 30 days of hire date - company paid)

    DSP 1 and DSP 2, desirable, DSP 1 Certification within 12-months of hire date (company paid)

    Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Certification (company paid)

    Ability to lift 30lbs and move up to 100lbs

    We have flexible schedules, full-time and part-time:

    AM Shift: 6:30AM - 2:30PM

    PM Shift: 2:30PM – 10:30PM

    Overnight (NOC) Shift: 10:30PM – 6:30AM
