    Position Summary

    The Medication Certified Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on care and support in home and community settings. This role requires an active Medication Administration Certification and the ability to safely administer medications in accordance with Ohio DODD regulations.

    This position combines traditional DSP responsibilities with accountability for medication administration, documentation, and client health monitoring.

    Key Responsibilities

    Direct Care & Support

    Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding

    Provide supervision, companionship, and behavioral support

    Support community integration (appointments, outings, activities)

    Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily routines

    Follow each individual’s Individual Service Plan (ISP)

    Medication Administration

    Administer medications as prescribed and documented

    Complete Medication Administration Records (MARs) accurately and on time

    Monitor for side effects, reactions, or errors

    Maintain proper storage and security of medications

    Report any medication concerns immediately

    Documentation & Compliance

    Complete daily service notes and incident reports

    Follow all DODD, HIPAA, and company policies

    Participate in required training and compliance activities

    Required Qualifications

    Active Medication Administration Certification (Med Cert 1 required)

    High School Diploma or GED

    Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation

    Ability to pass background checks

    CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

    Ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and physical support

    Preferred Qualifications

    Med Cert 2 Certification

    Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

    Experience with behavioral supports or medical needs

    Schedule

    Part-Time, and PRN positions available

    Flexible scheduling based on client needs

    Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required
