About the Role:

Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. This weekend overnight position (Friday–Sunday, 8PM–8AM) is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities:

Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities during overnight shifts

Assist residents with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility

Monitor and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals throughout the shift

Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately

Respond to behavioral or medical situations calmly and appropriately, following established protocols

Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential environment

Communicate effectively with team members during shift transitions and handoffs

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required

Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred

Ability to work overnight weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday, 8PM–8AM)

Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach

Ability to pass a background check and meet state compliance requirements

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during overnight hours
