    MBI Health Services is looking for compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to join our residential team supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities. We currently have full-time (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and on-call shifts available in Washington, DC.

    In this role, you’ll make a direct impact by helping individuals with personal care, daily living skills, and community engagement in a supportive, home-like setting. Experience working with individuals who use wheelchairs or driving a handicap-accessible van is a plus , but not required. If you’re patient, dependable, and ready to make a difference—you belong here.

    Starting Pay: $17.50/hour.

    ** Responsibilities and Duties:**

    • Assist individuals with personal hygiene, daily living activities, and medication administration as directed

    • Create and maintain a safe, comfortable living environment for residents

    • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals in their homes

    • Accompany residents on community outings and recreational activities

    • Prepare nutritious meals and perform light housekeeping duties

    • Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring personalized support

    • Conduct monthly fire drills and maintain safety protocols

    • Complete accurate and timely documentation of client activities and progress

    • Collaborate with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care

    • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies

    • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times

    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

    • Immediately report any malfunction of equipment to the Residential Manager.

    • Collect all mail from the properties relative to utility bills, court notices etc, and submit to Residential Manager.

    • Ensure that during inclement weather and other emergencies all preventative and safety precaution activities are implemented as outlined in company policies.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Successfully complete Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA
    • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Physical ability to assist with personal care and perform light housekeeping duties
    • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
    • Complete other trainings as required by stakeholders and management
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations
    • Cultural sensitivity and awareness
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to clients' individual needs
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
    • Emotional stability and resilience in a challenging work environment
    • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
