Peace of Mind Residential Care in Fredericksburg, VA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Responsibilities:
Provide daily living assistance including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
Support individuals with disabilities in achieving personal goals and maintaining independence
Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
Foster a safe, supportive, and positive residential environment
Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and healthcare professionals
Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges using approved crisis intervention techniques
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
