About the Role:

Zulas Helping Hands LLC is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Staff member to join our team in Oakland, CA. Responsibilities:

Provide direct care and personal support to individuals with developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities

Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation

Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately

Transport and accompany clients to appointments, community outings, and activities

Promote client independence, dignity, and community inclusion

Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and care team members

Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical situations and follow emergency protocols

Requirements:

Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred

Genuine compassion and patience when working with individuals with disabilities

Ability to pass a background check and health screening

Valid driver's license and insurance reliable transportation preferred

Comfortable with utilizing public transportation and has no concerns or difficulties with this mode of travel

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Strong communication and documentation skills

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
