Position Summary We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism in accordance with Pennsylvania 55 Pa. Code Chapter 6100 Regulations. Chapter 6100 emphasizes person-centered supports, community inclusion, health and safety, individual rights, and promoting independence.DSPs play a vital role in helping individuals live meaningful lives by supporting daily activities, community participation, and personal goals, and by maintaining a safe, respectful environment.
What You’ll Do
Provide direct care and supervision to individuals receiving services
Support individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks
Implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) and person-centered goals
Promote community integration and participation in recreational activities
Assist with medication administration as trained and authorized
Document daily progress notes, incidents, and required service documentation accurately
Maintain compliance with Chapter 6100 regulations, agency policies, and individual rights requirements
Utilize positive behavior support strategies when applicable
Ensure health, safety, dignity, and respect for all individuals supported
Transport individuals to appointments, community outings, and activities as needed
Communicate effectively with families, supervisors, and team members
Participate in required trainings and ongoing professional development

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required, NADD, and NADSP
Minimum age: 22 years old to drive for the company Vans
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass criminal background checks and required clearances
Ability to complete required DSP training and orientation requirements under Chapter 6100 regulations
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism, or behavioral supports preferred but not required
Bonus Skills
Experience supporting individuals with Autism or developmental disabilities.
Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), or trauma-informed care.
