We are seeking amazing compassionate professionals who have a passion for supporting children with special needs. We are seeking to hire Youth Counselors with skills, experience, and/or education in the Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice), or Special Education fields.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a secure and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors 
• Welcome new families that arrive conduct orientation and provide house rules;
• Handle incidents using standard operating procedures;
• Observe all residents and have the ability to recognize signs of abuse
• Maintain excellent telephone skills and transfer calls appropriately;
• Acquire understanding of building features and potential problems;
• Maintain daily log book, attendance, visitor and resident sign-in logs;
• Patrol transitional housing sites maintain standing posts, and conduct vertical patrols;
• Visit multiple units as required and report any incidents to the appropriate security shift supervisor;
• Attend program and agency staff meetings, house meetings and training sessions as required;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to work Friday to Tuesday from 11 pm to 8 am
• Must have experience supporting an overnight residential program. 
• Must be able to pass a LIVE SCAN
• Must be able to work in Santa Clara
