  • Responsibilities

    The Staff Accountant will be responsible for general accounting. You will be a valued member of our team and will be exposed to the various activities within and outside of the accounting department. The Staff Accountant will be involved with general ledger accounting, with a focus on overseeing accounts receivable. Your responsibilities will also include the analysis and preparation of journal entries, performing monthly account reconciliations, assisting with the monthly and annual close process and special projects as assigned.

    The ideal candidate will have both a public and private background. To succeed in this role, you must be resourceful, energetic, an all-around problem solver, and work well in environments that are constantly changing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries and supporting reconciliations for key balance sheet and expense accounts.
    • Assist in the review of contracts and other transactions for appropriate accounting treatment.
    • Review monthly sales tax reports and coordinate with third party consultants on routing sales filings to ensure timely tax payments.
    • Oversee accounts receivable functions
    • Assist in the collection process of all aged accounts receivable invoices.
    • Prepare monthly support files for bad debt allowance.
    • Create and apply cash for all non-inventory related accounts receivable transactions.
    • Support annual internal and external audits as necessary, including the preparation of audit schedules.
    • Perform additional research and special projects as requested.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 5+ years of experience in accounting
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP required
    • Hands on experience with a robust ERP/MRP system (bonus points for Oracle)
    • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with various formulas including look-ups, pivot tables, and If statements
    • Strong verbal and written communication
    • Possess strong organizational skills and be able to work independently and prioritize efficiently
    • Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
    • Good interpersonal skills for interacting and coordinating work within the departments and outside vendors
    • Highly analytic and strategic with unparalleled problem solving skills
    • Adaptable and ambitious. You will enthusiastically take on other assignments as needed to support your team
