POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary duty of the Sr. Formulator is to stay on top of the latest scientific literature and at the forefront of product innovation. The Sr. Formulator plays a core role in innovation at JFI and is a source of scientific information.

 TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conducts the evaluation of new ingredients
2. Conducts formulation feasibility and ingredient interaction evolution.
3. Conducts formulation optimization for new and current products for overage, filer and waste reduction and to ensure stability of the finished products.
4. Manages benchtop trials, pilot runs, and collaborates with full scale production team for smooth commercial run.
5. Tracks and communicates with relevant departments regarding project plans, project details, deadlines and priorities.
6. Conducts stability and feasibility studies and assesses new ingredients for product specifications and pricing.
7. Keeps up with scientific and technology developments related to nutraceutical industry and recommends new product ideas to enhance company’s portfolio.
8. Performs any other duties as may be required by manager.

• Minimum of PhD in Chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in the dietary supplement, pharma, or beverage industries required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Great attitude, detail oriented and work ethic.
• Must have strong research and communication skills.
• Must be proficient with Word and Outlook
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Must be a team player.
