    Job Description

    Responsibilities:
    As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the office by using your experience and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the financial properties of a law office to contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of the goals and objectives of the Department. In collaboration with the global team, you will plan, lead, and implement global projects and initiatives. You will develop and supervise your staff by performing a multitude of responsibilities, including but not limited to, hiring, assignment, training, evaluation, discipline, termination, and salary and bonus administration. Management responsibilities include but are not limited to: bill preparation, processing and analysis, review of accounts payable and employee reimbursements, cost recovery, client and office cash receipts. Other key responsibilities include:

     

    Managing and developing large number of Accounting staff in more than one location

    Organizing, assigning, delegating and coordinating the work of the staff to ensure department and office objectives are met timely and accurately

    Generating performance evaluations, and recommending salary increases; working in a collaborative manner with HR and the GSO to recruit, select, train, coach, evaluate, and when necessary discipline employees

    Providing interpretation, guidance, and assistance to attorneys, paralegals and staff regarding all aspects of the firm's billing, vendor payments, and accounting procedures

    Coordinating with the GSO and helping implement and administer firmwide accounting policies and procedures including integration of accounting standards and rollouts of new software

     

    Qualifications

    Possess a proven track record of managing large number of resources including remote resources

    Demonstrate the ability to develop thorough knowledge and understanding of the firm’s billing policies, procedures and system

    Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

    And have:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA a plus
    • A minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly complex Accounting experience
    • A strong knowledge of legal billing
    • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in an Accounting management capacity
