    Government agency is seeking FEMA disaster recovery professionals to join their Los Angeles office. The professional hired will be an integral part of the Recovery Division, providing support to Finance Department with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Reimbursement. The FEMA disaster recovery auditor audit and prepare invoices for reimbursement by FEMA. We are seeking finance professionals with audit and payment research information.

    Professionals will work as a member of a collaborative team to:

    • Collect, analyze, organize, and summarize financial data for reimbursement.
    • Assist in the development of federal grant applications (e.g. FEMA project worksheets [PWs]) to support disaster recovery projects leveraging data from cost estimators, budgets, audits, and expenses
    • Creating and maintaining invoices for final review, including gathering and auditing all supporting documents for invoice
    • Analyze data and work with the Finance team to submit reimbursement
    • Support policy analysis for existing and emerging policy and guidance from FEMA and other federal agencies specific to grant eligibility.
    • Have the ability to prepare and put together government invoices for review
    • Ability to reconcile invoice payment, and communicate with government officials.

    In this role, candidates must have:

    • At least two years of professional experience in audit and or FEMA expenditures.
    • At least six months of experience in consulting or disaster recovery.
    • Knowledge of consulting/business practices.
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
    • The capability to balance multiple high-priority assignments.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong writing skills and the ability to provide writing samples.
    • A bachelor’s degree in a related field.

    Candidates might also have:

    • Emergency management or disaster recovery finance experience
    • Experience in one (or more) of the following areas:
      • Accounting – Government Reimbursement
      • Cost Estimating
      • Section 428 Public Assistance Alternative Procedures
      • Project Management/Applicant Relations
      • Government Auditing
