Position Description: The Director of Product Development will be responsible for overseeing the product development life cycle from product ideation to launch. This role will oversee all inhouse formulation and benchtop work. This role will collaborate with internal and external market researchers to identify consumer needs and drive innovation and maintain the company’s competitive standing in the nutraceutical industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Directs formula benchtop trials, pilot runs and optimization of new and current products.
2. Evaluates ingredient compatibilities and contraindications in formulations, recommends alternatives.
3. Stays on top of new developments in the dietary supplement industry and recommends new and efficacious formulations and delivery systems.
4. Oversees costing and recommends pricing to stakeholders.
5. Evaluates product stability and packaging to ensure specified product shelf stability.
6. Partners with other teams to develop collateral for marketing needs, presentations, and consumer education.
7. Performs any other related duties as may be required.

Job Requirements: Ø Minimum of PhD in Chemistry, pharmacology or related field.
Ø Proven track record of developing successful dietary formulations.
Ø Understanding of all aspects of the product development process from bench-top formulation through scale-up and commercialization.
Ø Knowledge of DSHEA and FTC guidelines
Ø Minimum 5 years experience in the dietary supplement, pharma, or beverage industries required.
Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ø Great attitude, detail oriented and work ethic.
Ø Must have strong research and communication skills.
Ø Must be proficient with Word and Outlook
Ø Must have strong attention to detail
Ø Must be a team player.
