    One of the largest full-service securities firms and investment banks in the nation. We have an immediate need for a Payroll Manager, who will oversee all aspects of the payroll and 401(k) administration.

    • Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of payroll processing for a 1000 employees, multi-state, multi-location firm
    • Manage payroll employees, provide training, leadership, and development coaching to ensure adequate cross training and delegation of job responsibilities
    • Oversee payroll processing of a semi-monthly payroll, a monthly sales/commission-based incentive payroll and administration of the in-house 401(k) program
    • Approve all account reconciliations and journal entries prepared by the department
    • Supervise and coordinate fiscal and calendar year-end processing of payroll, including supplemental payrolls, W-2, 1099 and other tax forms, and other required documentation
    • Oversee the maintenance of payroll records, logs and files in accordance with firm policy and state and federal laws and regulations
    • Supervise the retirement plan administration: manage the day-to-day affairs and annual processes and decisions regarding the company's 401(k) plan
    • Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
    • Must pass Series 99 within 90 days of employment

    Experience and Skills

    • 3-5 Years previous payroll supervisory experience
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Experience with account reconciliation and basic accounting principles
    • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and payroll tax related issues
    • Experience with sales-based commission payroll
    • Experience with a multi-state, multi-location payroll with at least 500 employees
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
    • CPP certification or willingness to obtain the license
    • Experience with Ultimate Software (Ultipro) extremely desirable, or other web-based payroll processing provider
    • Experience with retirement plan administration (Sungard's Relius Administration) desirable
    • Prior experience with administering/managing 401(k) profit plans
    • Experience with Cognos reporting systems desirable
