Job Summary
This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Loan Operations Department, which includes Commercial Loan Operations, Document Preparation, Quality Assurance, Loan Processing/Funding, and Loan Servicing. The role ensures that collateral lien positions are properly documented and perfected at all times. It also serves as a key liaison between Loan Operations, Credit, and Lending teams. A commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in the delivery of lending products and services is critical to success in this role.
Essential Functions
Oversee daily workflows within all areas of the department.
Ensure that loan documentation accurately reflects loan approvals and is fully executed to perfect liens before funds are released.
Ensure accurate data entry for new loans, disbursements, payments, and payoffs.
Identify training needs and facilitate training for department personnel.
Provide leadership and guidance to staff, resolving complex loan servicing issues and supporting both internal teams and customers.
Monitor and resolve loan exceptions to maintain policy compliance.
Ensure proper maintenance of loan covenants.
Validate the accuracy and integrity of loan data and order lien searches to confirm appropriate lien positions.
Confirm that documentation requests are complete and compliant with legal and policy requirements.
Maintain and regularly update departmental policies and procedures to align with regulatory and internal standards.
Communicate process changes and relevant information to lending staff.
Approve and monitor daily, monthly, and quarterly loan transactions and related general ledger activities.
Manage vendor relationships including evaluations, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance the overall customer experience.
Participate as a member of the organizational leadership team.
Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing loan operations professionals.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of five years in a leadership role within a loan operations environment.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Credit or Loan Administration, supported by extensive job-related training.
Technical Skills and Abilities
Centralized Loan Operations experience is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of credit principles and credit policy.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with government lending programs.
Knowledge of credit-related issues including foreign exchange, operational risk, and derivative products.
In-depth knowledge of loan products and related financial services.
Ability to interpret complex financial data.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Experience with credit risk monitoring and reporting systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking.
Collaborative team player.
Working Conditions
