  • Responsibilities

    The Director of Accounting is responsible for leading property-level accounting functions for a hotel management company, overseeing a portfolio of branded and independent hotels. The position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with USALI and GAAP, strong internal controls, owner reporting, cash management, and operational support for hotel leadership teams. Responsibilities: • Direct accounting operations for multiple managed hotel properties. • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. • Review property financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and owner reports. • Ensure compliance with USALI, management agreements, franchise requirements, and lender covenants (as applicable). • Partner with Operations, Revenue Management, Asset Management, and Property General Managers. • Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reviews. • Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and year-end reporting. • Oversee cash management, banking activities, and working capital controls. • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting system enhancements. Leadership Responsibilities • Manage a team of 3-4 staff consisting of Accounting Managers, Staff Accountants, and/or AP personnel. • Establish performance expectations and development plans. • Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. • CPA strongly preferred. • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience. • 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality accounting. • Multi-property hotel management company experience preferred. • Strong knowledge of USALI, GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and hotel operations. Systems Experience • M3 Accounting. • Adams Keagan. • Microsoft Excel (Advanced). Compensation: $100,000+
