    Salary: $130,000 – $145,000 (commensurate with experience)

    Position Summary

    A premier Life Plan Community in Washington, DC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing to oversee clinical operations in its Health Center. This leadership role is responsible for regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and ensuring high-quality resident care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead daily operations and clinical care within the Health Center
    • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and departmental budgeting
    • Develop and maintain nursing standards, policies, and procedures
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans
    • Supervise MDS compliance and documentation accuracy
    • Conduct quality rounds, audits, and performance evaluations
    • Participate in QAPI initiatives and policy reviews
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations at all levels
    • Maintain Infection Preventionist certification and oversee infection control
    • Hire, train, and evaluate nursing leadership and staff
    • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and care teams

     Qualifications

    • Active RN license (required)
    • MSN preferred
    • 7–10 years of long-term care experience, including leadership roles
    • Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations
    • Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills
    • Proficient with electronic health records and clinical systems
    • BLS certification (required)
    • Infection Preventionist Certification (or willingness to obtain)
