    Director of Accounting

    We are seeking an experienced accounting leader to serve as the senior accounting leader for a growing organization. Reporting to the CFO, this role will oversee the accounting function, develop the team, strengthen controls and processes, and support the organization's continued growth and strategic initiatives.

    The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, developing talent, establishing accountability, and partnering with executive leadership.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting organization.
    • Manage and coach accounting leaders and staff.
    • Build organizational depth, succession planning, and leadership capabilities.
    • Establish accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team.

    Accounting Operations

    • Oversee accounting operations and the monthly close process.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Review financial results and reporting packages.
    • Maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
    • Support the organization as it scales.

    Strategic & Transaction Support

    • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.
    • Support acquisitions, integrations, financing activities, and other corporate transactions.
    • Assist with due diligence and transaction readiness.
    • Develop scalable accounting and reporting infrastructure to support continued growth.

    Compliance & Reporting

    • Ensure accounting activities comply with applicable standards, policies, and contractual requirements.
    • Support executive, board, and other stakeholder reporting.
    • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and controls around sensitive financial information.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • CPA preferred.
    • 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
    • Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting teams.
    • Experience in a growing or complex organization.
    • Experience with M&A, due diligence, integrations, or transaction readiness preferred.
    • Experience in a regulated or compliance-driven industry preferred.
    • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
