This Director of Accounting role sits at the center of a mission-driven organization where financial leadership directly enables operational stability, long-term stewardship, and service impact. You won’t just oversee accounting—you’ll shape how resources are managed, protected, and deployed across multiple entities.

Our client operates in a complex environment spanning nonprofit, healthcare, and religious organizations. If you are a finance leader who brings both technical rigor and a values-driven leadership style—and you’re motivated by purpose as much as performance—this role offers meaningful influence.

This organization is a long-established, faith-based nonprofit overseeing multiple corporations and apostolic centers. Leadership values humility, accountability, and individuals who show up fully—professionally and personally—in how they lead and collaborate.

    In this role, you will…

    • Lead financial operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with organizational mission
    • Direct budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning in partnership with operational and ministry leaders
    • Oversee full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting
    • Own audit processes and external auditor relationships, driving clean audits and strong internal controls
    • Guide and develop the accounting team, setting expectations for ownership, follow-through, and continuous improvement
    • Partner with leadership on capital planning, funding strategies, and financial decision-making across apostolic centers
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit regulations, and healthcare reporting requirements (including cost reports and regulatory filings)

    What we’re looking for

    • Strong command of GAAP and fund accounting (restricted vs. unrestricted funds)
    • Experience overseeing audits, financial reporting, and internal controls
    • Background managing accounting teams and driving accountability across functions
    • Exposure to healthcare financial reporting or similarly regulated environments
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred
    • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in nonprofit or multi-entity environments

If you’re a finance leader who combines technical depth with humility, ownership, and purpose—we welcome a confidential conversation to explore alignment.

    • Compensation
      $175,000-$225,000 per year
