    Position Overview:

    Our client, a leader in renewable and conventional power generation, is seeking an experienced Director of Asset Management to lead their Buffalo Grove-based team. This strategic leadership role requires deep expertise in energy markets, financial optimization, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio of generation assets while driving operational excellence and maximizing financial performance.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or related quantitative field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
    • Experience:
      • 10+ years in asset management, including leadership of generation assets in North American ISOs.
      • 2+ years of NERC compliance oversight in a director-level or SME role.
      • Proven track record in portfolio optimization and market analytics.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Advanced financial modeling (Excel) and risk assessment capabilities.
      • Mastery of electricity, capacity, and emissions market dynamics.
    • Leadership Skills:
      • Exceptional stakeholder management (executives, ISOs, regulators).
      • Strategic vision for team development and process improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Portfolio Leadership: Oversee financial, operational, and regulatory performance of power generation and biofuel assets.
    • Strategic Partnerships: Serve as primary liaison for ISOs, investors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Market Optimization: Lead energy/capacity settlement processes and emissions trading strategies.
    • Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to NERC standards and market rules.
    • Team Development: Mentor asset management professionals and align cross-functional goals.
