Position Overview:
Our client, a leader in renewable and conventional power generation, is seeking an experienced Director of Asset Management to lead their Buffalo Grove-based team. This strategic leadership role requires deep expertise in energy markets, financial optimization, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio of generation assets while driving operational excellence and maximizing financial performance.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or related quantitative field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- Experience:
- 10+ years in asset management, including leadership of generation assets in North American ISOs.
- 2+ years of NERC compliance oversight in a director-level or SME role.
- Proven track record in portfolio optimization and market analytics.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced financial modeling (Excel) and risk assessment capabilities.
- Mastery of electricity, capacity, and emissions market dynamics.
- Leadership Skills:
- Exceptional stakeholder management (executives, ISOs, regulators).
- Strategic vision for team development and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Leadership: Oversee financial, operational, and regulatory performance of power generation and biofuel assets.
- Strategic Partnerships: Serve as primary liaison for ISOs, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Market Optimization: Lead energy/capacity settlement processes and emissions trading strategies.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to NERC standards and market rules.
- Team Development: Mentor asset management professionals and align cross-functional goals.
