A top Atlanta law firm seeks a Director of Attorney Development to oversee firmwide initiatives supporting the onboarding, integration, and professional growth of attorneys and paralegals at all levels. Reporting to the COO, this role will drive programs that strengthen attorney engagement, development, and retention across multiple offices.
Key Responsibilities
Integration & Onboarding: Design and implement onboarding programs for new associates, laterals, and partners to ensure seamless cultural and professional integration.
Professional Development: Develop and execute comprehensive training frameworks covering legal, leadership, business, and critical-thinking skills. Oversee CLE compliance and partner with firm leadership on development initiatives.
Mentorship & Coaching: Manage mentoring programs, provide coaching and feedback, and support performance evaluations and career growth initiatives.
Collaboration & Culture: Partner with HR and DEI teams to promote wellness, inclusion, and engagement across the attorney population.
Relationship Building: Cultivate strong connections with attorneys, firm leadership, and external partners such as law schools and professional organizations.
Retreats & Programming: Lead attorney retreats and professional development events in collaboration with firm committees.
Qualifications
J.D. preferred; 5+ years of professional development or attorney integration experience in a law firm environment.
Proven success designing and implementing training and development programs.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage competing priorities.
Availability to travel to firm offices as needed.
Hybrid flexibility is available, though onsite collaboration is encouraged to support meaningful relationship-building and integration across the firm.
