    Our client is seeking a Director of Business that will lead the product management and commercial strategy for the business. This role is responsible for driving revenue and profitability through a competitive and well-balanced product portfolio, managing product roadmaps, development, marketing, rationalization, and channel strategies. Additionally, the Director of Business will oversee M&A ideation and foster cross-functional collaboration with Software Development, Marketing, and Operations teams to enhance product connectivity and customer experience. The role also involves guiding site leadership in Webster and working closely with the team in Vernon Hills.

    Responsibilities

    • Drive global revenue, margin, and growth targets by developing and executing strategic plans for product development and market expansion.
    • Lead and build the team, ensuring appropriate resourcing across the division.
    • Drive revenue growth through commercial plans, including product line strategy, vision, product marketing, new product introductions (NPI), brand management, pricing, and forecasting.
    • Implement programs for internal development, contract manufacturing, licensing, or sourcing to drive revenue and profitability growth across the product portfolio.
    • Lead forecasting and annual planning, including new product introductions.
    • Analyze sales trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Negotiate private label and contract agreements with exclusive rights to expand proprietary and private label products.
    • Develop and implement global pricing strategies by channel to maximize end-to-end margins.
    • Build channel strategies and collaborate with Sales Operations to optimize selling tools and training.
    • Prepare market share and share-of-wallet reports for relevant regions.
    • Maintain competitive product and pricing reports, and conduct competitive analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and market gaps.
    • Stay informed on market direction and trends through direct interactions with customers, suppliers, partners, and industry contacts.
    • Build tactical and strategic roadmaps for new product go-to-market strategies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, science or engineering related area or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Requires 10 years of progressive experience in with a combination of sales, product management, product development, marketing and sourcing roles.
    • Experience in establishing effective product development methodologies and processes.
    • Experience working with cold chain processes.
    • Possess a high level of initiative and creativity with the ability to work with little supervision.
    • Willing to take calculated risks and when risk does not pan out, must be able to learn from mistakes.
    • Strong organizational skills to merge multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines related to various task and initiatives, organize own work. Must be flexible to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives.
    • Must possess strong negotiation skills to independently negotiate and manage a relationship with external suppliers/management level partners, representing the Company’s interests.
    • Proficient in standard computer applications, with excellent skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Access. Must be able to obtain, manipulate and analyze data and effectively compile them and present them into reports or presentations.
    • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other essential time constraints.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization.
    • Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
    • 30-40% travel required.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary Range: $150 - $200k, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
